My Travel Highlights
One of my most unforgettable travel experiences took place during The Great Northwest of China trip in 2017. While visiting A Rou Monastery, located at the foot of Mt. Qilian, I had a profound encounter with a renowned monk that left a lasting impact.
Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by the monk who introduced us to the temple. As a gesture of respect, we made offerings and donations, which were met with the monk's gracious gift of a Hada, a traditional Tibetan ceremonial scarf.
The monk then guided us to a peaceful hillside behind the temple. His serene smile instantly made us feel at ease. From this vantage point, we beheld the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding mountains against the backdrop of a vast blue sky adorned with white clouds.

He encouraged us to slow down, reflect, and embrace the true essence of existence. Inspired by his teachings, we embarked on a memorable hour-long meditation session on the mountain that day.
