With more than 2,500 years of history, the 45-meter-high (150-foot-high) pyramid-like stupa is the landmark of capital. The best time to visit the Great Sacred Stupa is in the late afternoon when you can get a spectacular sunset view which attracts photographers from home and abroad.

If you are visiting Luang Prabang with your kids, then Mandalao Elephant Conservation should be on your list. It is a good chance to keep close interact with these lovely giant animals. Running through the jungles and forests to search for elephants to meet on your own is a fun activity. Your kids can also bathe and feed the elephants in the park too. Elephant riding is not allowed in this park as the park takes pursuing ethical ways to treat animals very seriously.
4. Nam Xay Viewpoint, Vang Vieng
Vang Vieng is often a city that you will stop at if you are going to Luang Prabang from Vientiane. Beautiful landscapes, numerous karst caves, and adventurous hiking routes make Vang Vieng a great destination. For hiking lovers, Nam Xay Viewpoint can be a highlight of a Laos trip. Located on the top of the steep mountain, you can get a spectacular bird's-eye view of natural sights of Vang Vieng. The two motorbikes and a small wooden hut at the viewpoint are symbols of the place, where most people take a picture.

Excellent Trip Planning by Alisa Liu at Asia Highlights
Alisa did a wonderful job! She was very detail oriented, extremely responsive and answered my questions very promptly. She incorporated all of the places we wanted to visit and was able to book hotels, airline tickets and special event tickets (to the Chiang Mai CAD Khomloy Sky Lantern Festival which was sold out when I tried booking on my own.) Alisa was great to work with and I recommend that others use her for their trip planning. More
