How to Plan a Trip to Singapore and Bali 2025

Written by Rita Updated Jan. 11, 2024

For couples and families who want to enjoy leisurely relaxation in Southeast Asia, a trip to Singapore and Bali is recommended.

Bali, "the Island of the Gods", is a relaxing escape with various natural beauties (jungles, rice terraces, volcanoes… not to mention the beaches), mysterious Hindu temples, and world-famous art galleries! And most importantly, the unrivalled beaches are paradise for a relaxing getaway!

Singapore is a great place for cityscapes, beautiful tropical gardens, and food adventures.

How Many Days are Needed?

If you want to explore the main highlights of Singapore and Bali, 10 to 14 days are suggested — 4–6 days in Singapore and 7–9 days in Bali.

Four days is enough to see the best of Singapore, covering its skyscrapers, exquisite parks and gardens, street culture, and food hunting.

If you are traveling with children, you can add one or two days for a more relaxed pace and some kids' activities, like Universal Studios.

7 to 9 days is a good length of stay for visiting the highlights of Bali — beaches, temples, jungle exploration, and some cultural experiences.

If you want to explore its nearby islands like Java or you want to have more special experiences like a turtle release tour, master class in silver-working, volcano hiking, or diving, you may need 10–15 days.

A 2-Week Itinerary Suggestion for Couples

For couples, Bali is usually the main focus. So, spend 7–9 days in Bali and 3–4 days in Singapore.

Days 1–3: Singapore

Food, urban culture, and cityscapes are the highlights of Singapore. Three days in Singapore can be built around these highlights.

Singapore A light show in Marina Bay
  • Day 1: Arrive and enjoy night scenes that are highlights of Singapore (the stunning light show in Marina Bay is recommended).
  • Day 2: City sightseeing. Visit Singapore's iconic landmarks to see its history and modernity, like the famous Merlion Park, Singapore Botanic Gardens, Little India, and Thian Hock Keng Temple.
  • Day 3: Food and urban culture experience. Go to Chinatown to learn about Singapore's mix of cultures. Experience the prevalent local hawker culture and taste some popular Singaporean foods.

If you want to enjoy some quiet and romantic moments with your husband or wife, we can arrange a night cruise and a rooftop bar spot with a view, where you can overlook the skyscrapers and neon signs at night with a drink at hand.

Days 4–12

Jungle Hotel in Ubud Have Breakfast in a Jungle Hotel in Ubud

Leisurely and revitalizing activities like spas, yoga, and cruises coupled with some adventure or fun experiences like water rafting or cooking classes are a great way to enjoy a sweet time in Bali.

Centrally-located Ubud, featuring jungles, village scenery, terraced rice fields, and cultural-town activities/sights, as well as Bali's southern beaches and islands are the main destinations — 4 days in Ubud and 4 days for beach time are recommended.

  • Day 4: Arrive in Ubud and have a rest after your flight to Bali from Singapore.
  • Days 5–7: Ubud exploration. Visit heritage temples, which are the birthplaces of Balinese culture, visit a Brahman family (descendants of the priests who brought Hinduism to Bali), experience local Balinese traditional offering rituals, go river rafting, enjoy a picturesque high tea...
  • Days 8–12: Seminyak Beach area exploration. Go sightseeing in a vintage Volkswagen car, take part in a Balinese cooking class, relax on the beach, cycle around the rustic paddy fields, enjoy a sunset cruise...

Seminyak is preferred by many couples who want to stay in luxury resorts and enjoy a peaceful and relaxing vibe.

If, however, you like a lively vibe with colorful nightlife and shopping, you could choose to stay at Kuta Beach. Kuta is also a good place to surf as a beginner with its smaller waves.

Monkey Forest, Bali Monkey Forest

Spend 3–4 days to explore Ubud in central Bali, where there is jungle fun for kids nearby. It is also a good place to learn about Bali's culture and tradition.

Visit Monkey Forest to see hundreds of macaque monkeys and observe them with your kids. If your children like adventurous activities, experience whitewater rafting. You could also bring your kids to visit a Brahman family to learn about local life and culture.

In the evening, you could go to a night market with your children and taste the local food.

For a special experience for your kids, we recommend a turtle release tour at Saba Beach. This can be both meaningful and fun for children.

Spend another 3 or 4 days exploring Bali's southern beaches, enjoying family beach time with various activities for kids like swimming and surfing.

A traditional Kecak dance staged at ocean-side Uluwatu Temple cannot be missed.

How Much Does a Singapore and Bali Trip Cost?

A Singapore and Bali private tour costs around US$200–250 per day per person, including air fare between Bali and Singapore, 4- or 5-star hotel, lunch, attractions, guide and transfers. Kids under 10 get 30 to 50 percent off.

For a private family trip with two adults and two kids, the cost of a 2-week holiday combining Bali and Singapore would be about 10,000 to 12,000 USD. International airfares are not included.

For a couple's trip, it may cost about 5,500 USD to 7,000 USD for 2 weeks. Traveling in a bigger group or during shoulder season usually means less cost.

Airfares are always the biggest slice of your travel costs. Your international airfare typically ranges between US$500 and US$1,000 each way from/to America and Europe. Additionally, the flight between Singapore and Bali is much cheaper, costing from USD 150 for economy class at peak season.

Dining is fairly affordable as well. Paying US$20 per person is enough for a quality meal.

How Do I Travel between Singapore and Bali?

Flying is the easiest and most convenient way to travel between Singapore and Bali.

You can fly into Bali Denpasar International Airport from Singapore's Changi Airport in just 2 hours and 45 minutes. With several flights a day, you'll easily find a flight based on your schedule.

Some people might consider traveling by ferry between Singapore and Bali, but we don't recommend it. Direct ferries are not available, so you would have to transit 2–3 times. Arranging the transits between harbors is time-consuming and troublesome, especially when carrying your luggage and changing tickets.

Do I Need a Visa for a Singapore and Bali Trip?

If you are from America, Canada, Australia, and the UK, you can travel to Singapore and Bali visa-free for 30 days. Check if your country is in the visa-free list on Asia Visas, Southeast Asia Visas.
